Our Doctors

Our doctors welcome the opportunity to provide the best possible care available for pets and their owners. As we work together, we encourage you to ask questions and voice any concerns that may arise so that you receive the exact kind of treatment and care you want.

Dr. Bob HaleDr. Bob Hale

I grew up in the wonderful southern town of Eldorado, Arkansas. As a young child my parents let me have a variety of pets: raccoons, fox squirrels, flying squirrels, a squirrel monkey, a parrot, a boa constrictor, tarantulas, and of course a few cats and dogs. My desire to work with animals started at a very early age, thanks to my parents.

When I graduated from high school in 1970, I was unsure of what I could do and moved toward a business degree. I graduated from University of Arkansas in 1976 and went to work for Roadway Express Trucklines for two years. The next three years, I worked in Brazil, South America for a shipping company called Offshore Logistics. It was during this time I reflected on my real "calling" in life-- to work with dogs and cats.

I returned to the University of Arkansas to "repeat" my sciences for two years, applied to LSU Veterinary School, and graduated in 1987 as a doctor of veterinary medicine.

At the present time, I have a wife, four children, five dogs, two cats, and one parrot. Everyday I wake up and think about my veterinary mission and how fortunate I am working with wonderful pet lovers, great employees, and doing what I was intended to do.

I am a native of central Louisianna. I was a chemist for 10 years and at the age of 34 went back to veterinary school. I graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and them practiced small animal and emergency medicine in Lafayette, LA for 3 years before moving to Arkansas!

I have 14 dogs & 5 cats (all rescues), so I don't have much free time time to enjoy camping, fishing, now skiing, and flying planes, though I try when I can. I enjoy working with the Humane Societies of Pulaski & Saline Counties and with the Animal rescue group CARE. I am interested in wildlife medicine & rehabilitation and have rasied dozens of birds, opossums, squirrels and raccoons.

Dr. Bob Hale and I opened Chenal Valley Animal Hospital in August 2004. I believe in practicing the very best medicine and surgery, and am happy to refer my patients to specialists when necessary.

I feel so lucky to look forward to each day at work. I have the most rewarding career, and can not imagine having more fun than practicing veterinary medicine.
